About Young Voices
The Young Voices in Concert series was conceived and first staged in the Point Theatre Dublin in 1996.
Young Voices stage the largest childrens concerts in the world. Choirs of no less than 4,000 voices , provide parcipitants with the opportunity to sing specially arranged songs with other schools and share the stage with the stars of our time.

The response from schools in Ireland, and subsequently the UK has been overwhelming. The largest choir in the MEN arena in Manchester, with 6,846 young voices, broke the Guinness World Record. Young Voices now face the challenge of a new record - "the largest simultaneous choir in the world" , to be set by our Young Voices in December 2002.

The enthusiasm of the schools has exposed the serious need for wider choral repertoire within the standard curriculum. Young Voices provide specially arranged songs, medleys and carols which have excited music teachers and young people alike, and in 2001 over 1,000 schools in the UK purchased the Young Voices music pack with outreach to 37,000 school children and their families. The future prospect is limitless.

Many of the biggest names in music today have been inspired to join the concerts. David Gray, Sir Cliff Richard, Chris de Burg, Gary Barlow, Michael Ball, Katrina, David Soul, Beverley Craven, Carla Maney, Tony Hadley, The Bachelors, Cleo (Cleopatra), The Magnets, and some of the child stars from the West End shows, have all performed to great acclaim, raising the profile of our concerts and providing huge excitement for both the young people on stage and those in audience.

Young Voices in World Record Bid

Up to 100,000 school children from across the UK are due to take part in a mass simultaneous sing on 9th December in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record and to raise money for Sargent.

The children will sing a specially written song "Tell Me Why" at precisely 2.45pm on the day and will be radio-linked to other choirs and to a concert in Belfast's Odyssey Arena where young singing star Declan Galbraith will be performing the song live. By singing together, the children will form the world's largest simultaneous choir.

The event has been organised by Young Voices UK and recording company Liberty EMI which successfully broke the Guinness World Record for the world's largest choir last Christmas when 6,846 young voices sang together at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
